Scrapping Sunday: Make a wish

I'm pretty happy with how this layout turned out, except for the stupid rhinestone flourish which was suppose to connect the two photos much better than this.

Gosh I had a hell of a time applying that thing. I got so frustrated that I ended up whacking it anywhere, totally disregarding the points I penciled for it. Pretty sure that's not what the flourish looked like in the packet but oh well, I tried.

I used Tutti Frutti from kaiser craft's Candy Lane Collection as my background paper and then stuck down a cupcake (also from the Candy Lane Collection). I love this collection, it's just so cute and fun!

Then I stuck down my photos ready to bring on the bling!

Originally I had planned to do a ballerina or fairy theme for these photos but I decided to use up what I already had in my stash to save some money.

It took me a couple of hours to whack this together, purely because of the ridiculous amount of rhinestones and pearls I used... kind of went a bit overboard but it makes it look so girly and pretty!

Some close ups:

Materials used:

Tutti Frutti from Candy Lane Collection
Cupcake from Candy Lane Collection
Rhinestone flourish in classic champagne
Self adhesive rhinestones in antique rose
Self adhesive rhinestones in hot pink
Self adhesive rhinestones in mint green
Self adhesive pearls in snow white
Sullivans crafty flower in pink
glitter alpha chipboard
pink thickers

Great work Emily :) Love those papers for girlie bday photos :) I love the pink flower you've used there!! Those flourishes can be a bit tricky - my tip... dont take the whole thing off the backing at once. I take off half or a quarter, cut the backing off and then position it and do it step by step :)

oh thanks that's a very helpful tip!! I just ripped the whole thing off and then it got tangled and stuck and I ended up having to cut some bits, should have used some common sense! Will be doing it step by step next time!

Don't worry, I definitely messed up my first hundred by taking it all off and mucking them up. Then I tried all different ways until realising I wasn't seeing what I now call the simplest thing ;)
